The Burst Disc Sub creates a pressure barrier that separates tubing and wellbore fluids when installing tubing, completion equipment and bottom hole assemblies. The orientation of the lower burst disc allows for the tubing ID to be isolated from high wellbore pressure while running into the well.
Once at depth, tubing pressure can be increased against the upper burst disc so that hydraulically activated tools can be functioned, and pressure tests can be performed. The discs can also be mechanically sheared by running to depth with tubing string or deploying wireline drop bars.
• Economic alternative for isolating tubing ID from high wellbore pressure
• Enables high pressure tubing events to be performed prior to disc removal
• Field adjustable shear value for easy and reliable disc removal
• Full tubing ID after the discs have been removed
