The ITC Thermal Shut-off (TSS) Float Shoe is a thermal activated steam control device that is designed to shut‐off and lock closed to prevent injected steam from travelling out of the toe and sand from getting in once liner has reached set depth.
The operator is free to circulate through the toe while running in. Once steam is injected and well temperatures reach pre‐determined temperature, the TSS float valve will shear closed, and lock shut from both directions. Steam will now be isolated to flow out of the slotted pipe.
Once the TSS float valve is closed, it maintains a 600 °F (315 °C) operating temperature and a back-pressure rating of 3,000 psi (20.68 MPa).
