The Ball-Drop Bypass Sub is run in a clean-up string and can be opened when a flow path is required between the inside diameter (ID) of the drill pipe and the annulus. The sub provides an additional means of equalizing pressure and fluid flow around the sub should the string become full of debris.
The Ball-Drop Open/Close Bypass Sub is opened to increase the flow velocity above a liner or casing crossover when a Multi-Function Circulating Tool is being utilized. The Ball-Drop Open/Close Bypass Sub has one set of ports and two internal ball seats that are activated to open and close the ports. Where it is desirable to re-open ports after the initial cycle, two open/close subs can be run in tandem.
• Allows fluid in the drill pipe above the tool to drain past the ball when the ports are open
• Multiple open/close subs can be run in tandem when multiple cycles are required
• Tool can be run in the closed or open position
• Lockdown model to maintain sleeve position when reverse circulating
• Conversion sleeve
